To restore your database
Recall that restoring a previous database means it will overwrite the data of the selected database into the currently loaded filename. If you do not want to do this, you may choose instead to leave the existing database intact and load a different database from the Utilities/Settings menu. To restore your database:
- On the Menu Bar, select Utilities.
- From the list of options, select
Restore Database. - A window titled "Clear Estimates - Restore Database Backup" will appear. It will automatically select a filename and location for the file to restore. To proceed with these settings, click Restore Backup.
- If you want to restore from a different file, click Browse to open a Windows file browser to choose your preferred restoration details. Once you have located an appropriately formatted Clear Estimates database file, click Open in the opened window. Now click Restore Backup to proceed with your new settings.
- The program will prompt you with the message "This action will overwrite the database to which the program is currently connected. Do you want to continue?" Click Yes to proceed with this operation.
